Collaboration Across Boundaries: GLA Invited to the 2026 CILT Cross-Domain Collaboration and Value Co-Creation Conference For Supply Chain

The 2026 China Langfang International Economic and Trade Fair took place from June 16 to 20 in Langfang, Hebei Province. As one of the fair's core events, the 2026 CILT Cross-Domain Collaboration and Value Co-Creation Conference For Supply Chain convened on the morning of June 17, bringing together government representatives, industry experts and business leaders from multiple countries for in-depth discussions on the evolving global supply chain landscape, cross-border cooperation and regional economic synergy. Ms. Grace Sun, Founder and President of GLA Global Logistics Alliance and Executive President of the Global Logistics Enterprises Federation (GLEF), attended the conference upon invitation.

A Multilateral Dialogue on Supply Chain Synergy

The opening session was chaired by Ke Linchun, Vice President and Secretary General of the China Communications and Transportation Association (CCTA). Jan Steenberg, President of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT); Yang Shengshi, President of CCTA and Zhou Kui, Deputy Secretary-General of the Hebei Provincial People's Government, delivered opening remarks, each addressing the strategic importance of cross-domain supply chain collaboration from the perspectives of international cooperation, industry governance and regional development.

H.E. Kojo Bonsu, Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to China; Zhang Qiang, Director of the Transport Services Division of the Ministry of Transport; and Xiao Rui, Deputy Director of the Freight Department of China State Railway Group, also attended and addressed the conference.

From Global Perspectives to China Practice

The keynote session was moderated by Li Qiaozhi, Secretary General of the CCTA Transport and Logistics Branch. Three distinguished speakers delivered keynote addresses: Paul MacDonald, Secretary General of CILT International; Huang Youfang, CILT Fellow, Director of the National Logistics Education Steering Committee and former President of Shanghai Maritime University; and Prof. Ts. Dr. Muhammad Zaly Shah, Vice President of CILT International and President of CILT Malaysia.

Following the keynote speeches, a series of presentations explored supply chain innovation from industry and regional perspectives. Wang Ying, Vice President of JD.com and Vice President of CCTA, outlined JD Logistics' global network expansion strategy. Zhang Yougui, Member of the Party Standing Committee and Deputy General Manager of Hebei Logistics Group, introduced the province's integrated service platform for domestic and foreign trade. Zhang Jing, Deputy Director of the Management Committee of the Xiong'an New Area Pilot Free Trade Zone, presented the zone's investment environment and logistics infrastructure plans. Hu Yudong, member of the "Global Top 50 Logistics Enterprises" working group and Executive Director of Heguang Think Tank, provided an interpretation of the 2026 Global Top 50 Logistics Enterprises Report.

The report, released during the conference, underscored the growing prominence of China's logistics sector, with SF Express and COSCO Shipping Holdings ranking among the global top ten, and companies such as JD Logistics, ZTO Express and Sinotrans securing strong positions across multiple categories. As Hebei Daily noted in its analysis, Hebei Province, leveraging its port clusters and inland logistics hubs, is emerging as a significant node in the global supply chain landscape.

On-Site Visit

On the afternoon of June 17, participants visited the YTO Express North China Transit Center and the Langfang Airport International Convention and Exhibition Center. At the transit center, the high-speed operation of automated sorting systems demonstrated the digitalization achievements in express logistics infrastructure. At the convention center, the comprehensive planning and industrial layout of the Langfang Airport Economic Zone showcased the clustering momentum of modern commerce and trade logistics under the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. From conference insights to on-the-ground realities, the visit provided tangible context for the discussions held throughout the forum.
